The study used a math model to analyze denitrification in UNITANK. The triple-tank structure wasn't good for removing nitrogen. Tank B with no oxygen can partly remove nitrogen. Most denitrification happens in the sediment area, but without enough carbon, it doesn't work well and can make sludge float.
