New technology purifies rural drinking water, solving safety concerns.
Researchers used reverse osmosis membrane technology to create pilot plants that purify drinking water from various sources like tap water, well water, and river water. By combining techniques like UF, MF, sand filtration, AC adsorption, and UV sterilization, the pilot plants effectively removed organic substances, microorganisms, color, smell, odor, and residual chloride from the water. This study offers a new and efficient method for providing safe drinking water in decentralized rural areas.
