New Study Reveals Origins of Sedimentation in Liaoxi Low Uplift
The researchers analyzed the origin of sediment in Liaoxi sag, China by studying heavy minerals. They found that the sediment mainly came from magmatic rocks in the west Yanshan Mountains, with some from metamorphic rocks. This influenced the type of slopes in the area, with mild slopes in the west and abrupt slopes in the east. Sedimentation in the area was also slightly affected by sources in the north.
