Boosting maize yield with nitrogen fertilizer and straw returning combo!
The study looked at how nitrogen fertilizer and returning straw to the field affect carbon movement in maize plants. They tested different levels of nitrogen and found that higher nitrogen amounts increased carbon from photosynthesis, especially when straw was added to the soil. The best nitrogen level for carbon movement in maize was N2. As nitrogen amounts increased, carbon movement decreased. Adding straw to the soil increased ear and grain weights in maize plants.
