The study looked at what factors influenced economic growth in different regions of China in the 1990s. They found that technological progress and resource optimization were the main reasons for economic growth. In that decade, technological progress played a big role in reducing regional disparities and boosting the economy. Capital was important for growth, but the impact of the labor force was not as clear. Overall, each province saw an increase in productivity and efficiency, but the role of resource allocation and capital in economic growth was limited.
