Wild Carp Outshine Farmed Counterparts in Nutritional Value
The study compared the nutrients in the muscles of wild and farmed common carp. Wild carp had more protein and essential amino acids, while farmed carp had more fat. Wild carp also had higher levels of healthy unsaturated fatty acids. This suggests that the diet of farmed carp may need more of these healthy fats. Overall, wild carp muscles are slightly more nutritious than farmed carp muscles.
