Toxic Chemicals Discovered in Industrial Waste, Raising Environmental Concerns
Researchers developed a method to measure benzene, toluene, and xylene in waste liquor from presswork. They used ethyl acetate as a solvent and analyzed the samples with gas chromatography. The method showed high accuracy with recoveries between 95.72% and 102.66%. The results were consistent with small variations, and the detection limit for benzene was found to be 0.50mg/L. This method is efficient, precise, and easy to use for analyzing these chemicals in waste liquor.
