New method doubles efficiency in 3D terrain modeling using UAV images.
High resolution UAV images are better than satellite images for creating detailed 3D terrain models. A new method was developed to automatically generate points and create accurate terrain models with less manual work. In flat areas, the method meets 1:1000 terrain construction needs and is twice as efficient. In mountainous areas, it meets 1:2000 needs and is four times faster.
