The study looked at how a type of high-yield rice, called Ⅱyou 129, copes with strong sunlight compared to another type, Shanyou 63. They found that Ⅱyou 129 is better at handling too much sunlight because it can protect its photosynthetic system better. This is because Ⅱyou 129 can use light more efficiently and recover faster after being damaged by sunlight. This means that Ⅱyou 129 can keep growing well even in very sunny conditions.
