Revolutionary Laccase from Trametes versicolor Doubles Biodegradation Efficiency and Decolorizes Dyes
The researchers studied how laccase from Trametes versicolor can break down wheat straw and sawdust, as well as remove dye from water. They found that the laccase greatly increased the breakdown of lignocellulose materials and could remove over 85% of certain dyes. The best time for dye removal was between 48-72 hours. This research could help improve water treatment processes and the use of laccase in industry.
