Coarser spatial resolution leads to loss of landscape diversity richness.
The study looked at how different scales of space affect the diversity of landscapes. They used various diversity indices to analyze Mt.Qingcheng World Heritage Site in Sichuan Province. The results showed that as the resolution of the space got coarser, changes in the evenness of different areas were more noticeable than changes in the richness of those areas. Some diversity indices were better at showing landscape diversity at higher resolutions, while others were more effective at lower resolutions. Certain indices focused more on the number of different types of landscapes, while others considered both richness and evenness.
