Wenzhou's Ecological Deficit Exceeds Capacity by 6.4 Times, Threatening Sustainability
The study used the ecological footprint method to measure ecological sustainability in Wenzhou in 2002. Results showed that Wenzhou had an ecological deficit of 1.7807 hectares per person, exceeding its ecological capacity by 6.4 times. The ecological footprint diversity, GDP ecological footprint, and development capacity were also calculated. Compared to Hangzhou, Wenzhou had lower values for all these indexes.
