The article examines the sedimentary system and provenance orientation in the red-bed sedimentary period in Dongying Sag. By analyzing geological, seismic, and geochemical data, the researchers identified the evolution of sedimentary systems and provenance in the area. They found that the basin had bumps around with a flat terrain in the west, and the provenance mainly came from the northwest and south orientations. Different sedimentary systems like alluvial fans, braided rivers, lakes, and beaches were identified. The changes in ancient climate, provenance, and terrain influenced the evolution of the sedimentary system in the region.
