Overuse of Phosphorus in Vegetable Soil Leads to Nutrient Imbalance
The study looked at how nutrients in vegetable soil vary across different areas. Farmers used too much phosphorus and too little potassium in their fertilization. Soil organic matter and ammonium nitrogen showed strong spatial patterns, while phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur had moderate patterns. Maps showed organic matter changing with soil texture, ammonium nitrogen in vertical bands, and other nutrients scattered. Fertilization made the differences in soil nutrients more pronounced.
