Beach nourishment project leads to erosion hotspots and sediment changes.
The study looked at how a beach in Beidaihe changed after being nourished with sand. They found that the beach eroded a lot one year after the project, with the eastern part eroding more than the western part. The sand on the beach became finer and more organized. Sediments mostly moved along the shore from northeast to southwest. Areas without underwater barriers eroded more. Overall, 76% of the added sand stayed on the beach, and it looked like they expected it to.
