Deep Groundwater Levels Impact Recharge Rates in North China Plain
A numerical model called Ross Method was used to study groundwater recharge in North China Plain. The study found that groundwater recharge is mainly influenced by precipitation and irrigation. The depth of groundwater and soil properties play a significant role in water flux and recharge. The Ross Model is recommended for simulating variably saturated flow. Groundwater depth over 5 meters does not affect potential recharge. The study suggests using a depth of 2 meters for calculating potential recharge.
