The study looked at how different factors like soil type and vegetation affect the amount of organic carbon in forest soil in Xingguo county, Jiangxi province. They found that soil from lime rock has more organic carbon than soil from red sandstone. Forests with fir or broad-leaved trees have more organic carbon than those with pine trees. Overall, the total amount of organic carbon in the soil is higher in the northwest and northeast of the county compared to the middle and southwest. The researchers also discovered that the elevation and aspect of the land influence the amount of organic carbon in the soil.
