Conservation tillage boosts soil temperature in cold, dry farming areas.
The study looked at how different ways of preparing soil affect its temperature in cold and dry farming areas. They tested four methods: mulching with harrow tillage, mulching with subsoiling, mulching with No-tillage, and conventional tillage. The results showed that conservation tillage methods increased soil temperature compared to conventional tillage from April to May, but then decreased it after May. The soil temperature increase was more significant closer to the surface, with the effects diminishing as you went deeper into the soil.
