Desertification in South Korqin Sandy Land Decreases, Urgent Action Needed.
The study looked at desertification in the south of Korqin Sandy Land from 1985 to 2000 using satellite images. They found that the area affected by desertification is large, mainly moderate in severity, and influenced by topography and wind directions. Over time, the area of desertification increased but the severity decreased. Serious and severe desertification was mainly in the west, while lighter degrees were in the east. The trend showed potential desertification becoming lighter, and serious desertification becoming moderate. It's important to focus on areas with light desertification to prevent worsening and new desertification.
