The officials who served the Zhenzong Emperor in the Song Dynasty were important figures in politics. They were mostly well-educated, with more civil officials than military ones. However, they were resistant to change and stuck to old ways of doing things, which had a negative impact on the Song Dynasty. They missed opportunities to improve politics and boost production.
