Climate change shifting ideal growing conditions for Cinnamomum camphora in China.
The study looked at how well Cinnamomum camphora trees can grow in different parts of subtropical China based on temperature. They found that in the east, the trees can grow well in the south but not as well in the north. In the west, there are large areas where the trees can't grow at all. Over time, the trees have been able to grow in more areas and are moving northward. Overall, the trees are best suited for the southern subtropics and not suitable for the western subtropics, but they are becoming more suitable for the northern subtropics.
