Shenyang City's Urban Growth Predicted to Reach 306 km2 by 2030.
Researchers used a model to predict how Shenyang City in China will grow in the future. They looked at two scenarios: one where development continues as it has been, and one where new policies and planning guide growth. The results show that by 2030, the city could expand by up to 306.0 km2 or 172.7 km2, depending on the scenario. The way the city grows will affect how much land is used for urban areas. One scenario leads to more spread-out development, while the other leads to more compact growth. This study helps understand how different planning strategies can shape the future of a city.
