Optimizing Fertilizer Mix Boosts Onion Yields in Qaidam Region.
A study in the Qaidam region found that using the right amount of fertilizer can increase onion yield. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium all play a role in boosting production, but too much nitrogen can actually decrease yield. The best results were seen with a specific combination of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium at certain application rates. The optimal amounts were found to be 28.3 kg of nitrogen, 22.7 kg of phosphorus, and 10.0 kg of potassium per 667 square meters, resulting in a high onion yield of 5,783.1 kg per 667 square meters.
