Emergency beach nourishment project in China predicts bathing places will disappear in 2-3 years.
A study used a computer model to predict how a beach nourishment project in Beidaihe, China would affect the shoreline. The model accurately simulated the changes caused by the project and showed that the beach would need more nourishment in 2 to 3 years to remain suitable for bathing. The researchers suggest regular nourishment to maintain the beach's condition and recommend a larger project for the entire west beach.
