New method accurately estimates aquifer parameters for improved water management.
A new method has been developed to estimate aquifer parameters and the distance between wells in an aquifer with a linear impermeable boundary. By simplifying the well functions and using linear equations, researchers were able to calculate these parameters from observed data during pumping and recovery tests. The method involves transforming the data into linear equations, calculating linear constants using regression analysis, and then estimating the aquifer parameters and well distance. This approach was demonstrated in an example to show how it can be applied in practice.
