The study estimated and broke down total factors productivity (TFP) in 11 regions of Zhejiang Province using the DEA-Malmquist productivity index approach. TFP in all regions increased quickly from the 8th to the 9th Five-Year Plan, but some regions saw a significant decline during the 10th Five-Year Plan. The analysis revealed that technological efficiency change had little impact on TFP, while technology changes closely mirrored TFP changes, indicating technology as a key factor influencing TFP shifts.
