Desertification is a big problem worldwide, especially in China's dry areas. Soil moisture is crucial for stabilizing ecosystems and preventing desertification. Studying the moisture patterns in sandy lands is key to renewing degraded ecosystems. Current research on sandy land moisture dynamics is summarized, highlighting the need for new methods and tools to advance this field.
