Revolutionary Simulation Predicts Groundwater Recharge, Ensuring Future Water Security
The study aimed to understand how groundwater levels changed in a specific region from the 1970s to 1990s and estimate how groundwater is replenished using numerical simulation. They used a 2D numerical model to create a quasi-3D model considering water movement in the soil. The results showed that the model was over 80% accurate and estimated the groundwater recharge for each aquifer from 1966 to 2005. This research can help others studying groundwater resources in similar regions.
