Polluted Runoff Threatens Urban Water Supplies, Urgent Action Needed
Urban nonpoint source pollution is a significant cause of water pollution. It occurs when pollutants from various sources are washed into water bodies by rain. This type of pollution is becoming more concerning as efforts to control point source pollution improve. A recent study looked at urban rainfall-runoff pollution and found various pollutants in the water, with concentrations changing over time. The study also proposed regulations to address nonpoint source pollution.
