The water quality in the Danjiangkou reservoir, which supplies water for the South to North Water Transfer Project, is currently good. However, pollution control around the reservoir and in the upstream area needs improvement. The pollution is mainly non-point pollution and water body pollution in the reservoir bays. Strong measures are needed to protect the water quality in the reservoir and ensure clean water flows northward.
