The article discusses the development of urban water supply in China from 1993 to 2000. It shows that the capacity of water supply has increased significantly during this time. Although per capita water consumption is decreasing, cities still face water shortage and pollution issues. The main focus areas for improvement include protecting water sources, improving water treatment, updating water distribution networks, and managing secondary water supply. The article concludes with suggestions for further development of urban water supply systems.
