Mainland China Universities Urged to Adopt Student-Focused Teaching for Better Learning Outcomes
The study compared teaching methods in construction education between universities in Mainland China and Hong Kong. Mainland universities mostly use transferring and shaping approaches, while Hong Kong universities prefer transferring and traveling methods. The transferring and shaping approaches are linked to surface learning, while the traveling approach promotes deep learning. Mainland universities should consider using student-focused teaching methods like traveling and growing to enhance students' interest and skills in professional practices.
