Optimal Seedling Age Boosts Flue-Cured Tobacco Yield and Quality in Xundian County
The study looked at different ages of tobacco seedlings to see which age is best for transplanting in Xundian County. They tested seedlings aged 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80 days, and found that 70-day-old seedlings produced the best quality and highest yield of tobacco leaves. Seedlings aged 60 days were the next best. It was concluded that transplanting 70-day-old seedlings in Xundian County during the best period is the most cost-effective option, as transplanting too early or too late can reduce the quality and economic benefits of the tobacco crop.
