Drought-resistant wheat genotypes promise higher yields in challenging conditions.
The study looked at how different types of wheat respond to drought stress. They tested 10 wheat genotypes and found that some were better at resisting drought than others. For example, Jining 16 and Hengguan 35 had good germination in drought conditions, while Yunong 949 showed strong resistance in seedling growth. Nanyang 996 had the highest yield under drought stress and was rated as the most drought-resistant overall.
