Soybean stubble boosts crop yield and soil nutrients, outperforming maize.
The study looked at how different types of crop stubble affect crop yield and soil nutrients when different fertilizers are used. Soybean stubble was found to increase crop yield more than maize stubble, but adding nitrogen fertilizer reduced this effect. Soybean stubble also improved soil nutrient levels for nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Improving the fertilization system increased crop yield and the effectiveness of fertilization, but the difference between soybean and maize stubble decreased over time.
