Organic fertilizers boost soil fertility and crop yields in yellow clay soil.
The researchers studied how different organic fertilizers affect the fertility and enzyme activities of low-yield yellow clayey soil. They tested various fertilization methods in a rice-rice rotation system and found that organic fertilizers improved soil nutrients and crop yields. Applying organic manure with chemical fertilizer increased certain soil enzyme activities, while others decreased. Soil enzyme activities like α-glucosidase and β-glucosidase are important for evaluating soil fertility changes. The study showed a significant correlation between soil enzyme activities and soil nutrients, with specific enzymes being key indicators of soil fertility in yellow clay soil.
