Sandy desertification in Xilinguole Grassland worsens, threatening local ecosystem.
Researchers analyzed changes in desertification land in the Northern Xilinguole Grassland using remote sensing and GIS techniques. They found that sandy desertification increased by 1366.057 km2 from 2000 to 2005, with severe desertification areas expanding the most. Human activities were identified as a major factor accelerating desertification in the area. Overall, the status of sandy desertification in the North Xilinguole grassland remains serious.
