Seasonal runoff impacts tidal wave propagation at Yangtze River estuary.
The study looked at how different amounts of water flowing into the Yangtze River affect the movement of tides in the area. By using a computer model, the researchers found that more runoff leads to smaller tidal waves and changes in the timing of high and low tides. They also discovered that the north side of the river has higher tides compared to the south side, regardless of the amount of runoff.
