Soil erosion in South Jiangsu Province threatens soil fertility and water quality.
Soil erosion in uncultivated areas of South Jiangsu Province was studied using a tracer method. Despite good plant cover, erosion still occurred due to landform and climate conditions. Erosion led to coarser soil particles, with silt being the main loss. It also caused a decrease in soil nutrients, accelerating soil fertility degradation. This could harm the water environment in the area. To prevent soil fertility loss and ecological damage, controlling soil erosion is crucial.
