Massive groundwater depletion in Shaying River Basin threatens water supply.
The researchers built a model to manage water in the Shaying River Basin, where there is a serious water shortage. They divided the area into smaller units and found that groundwater mainly flows into rivers, with recharge accounting for a large portion of surface water. The model accurately predicted water levels from 1961 to 1965. This study provides important information for managing water resources in the Shaying River Basin.
