A new type of production function, called dynamic production function, has been developed to better analyze economic development in China. This new approach considers not only current inputs but also past production foundations. Empirical studies comparing the dynamic production function with the traditional C-D production function have shown that the dynamic approach is more suitable for understanding economic developments in China and its regions.
