GIS reveals soil nutrient patterns impacting crop growth in hilly regions.
The study looked at the distribution of organic matter, available nitrogen, and available potassium in red soil hilly areas using GIS and geostatistics. The three soil characteristics had different spatial patterns and were influenced by various factors. Organic matter followed a spherical model, while nitrogen and potassium followed an exponential model. All three characteristics showed moderate spatial dependence and varied in different directions.
