Accurate Hydrocarbon Viscosity Predictions Could Revolutionize Energy Efficiency
A new model using the Peng-Robinson equation of state was created to calculate the viscosities of liquid and gas hydrocarbons more accurately. By comparing pressure-volume-temperature relationships and the equation of state, the model can predict vapor pressure and then calculate viscosities at a given temperature. This model works for both subcritical and supercritical conditions of pure hydrocarbons.
