Soil study reveals Elaeagnus.mollis rhizosphere boosts phosphorus availability for plants.
The study looked at the availability of different forms of phosphorus in the soil around Elaeagnus.mollis plants. They found that the levels of Total P were similar in soil near the roots and further away. However, Available P and Inorganic P were slightly higher near the roots, while Organic P was slightly lower. The pH of the soil near the roots was lower than further away, and both were somewhat alkaline. Overall, the results suggest that the presence of Elaeagnus.mollis plants affects the distribution of different forms of phosphorus in the soil.
