Sandy soil near Dong Ting Lake prone to severe liquefaction.
Sand liquefaction can be a problem in the Dong Ting Lake region due to sandy soil. By using tests like SPT, CPT, and SWVT, researchers predicted and analyzed sand liquefaction. They found that using SPT and CPT together is good for predicting liquefaction, with CPT being better. In this region, as sandy soil depth decreases, liquefaction risk increases. Liquefaction mostly happens at depths less than 13.3m, with severe risk at depths less than 5.95m.
