The character "舍"(she) on bronze objects has two parts: 余(yu) above and 口(kou) below. The upper part 余(yu) originally meant "house" but later became the first personal pronoun. The new character 舍(she) was created to express the original meaning of "house". The lower part 口(kou) helps differentiate characters with the same source and indicates the pronunciation of the upper part.
