High Cadmium Levels in Rice Pose Health Risk in Fujian Province
Cadmium in milled rice from Fujian Province was studied to see its impact on human health. Samples showed Cd levels ranging from 0.001 to 1.158 mg·kg-1, with 5% exceeding safety standards. The health risk from Cd was found to be higher than recommended levels, indicating potential pollution risk. Late-season rice had more Cd than early and mid-season rice.
