Toxic Chemical BDE-47 Found to Rapidly Sorb in Natural Soils
The study looked at how a chemical called BDE-47 sticks to different types of soil. They found that there are two main ways BDE-47 sticks to soil, one fast and one slow. The fast sticking happens quickly, while the slow sticking takes longer to reach its maximum. The fast sticking is more important at the beginning, while the slow sticking becomes more important later on. The amount of BDE-47 that sticks to soil depends on the type of soil, with some soils showing more linear behavior and others showing more nonlinear behavior.
