High Copper Levels Found in Soil of Guangdong Province, Raising Environmental Concerns.
The study looked at how copper (Cu) is distributed in the soil in Guangdong province. They used mapping software to analyze 261 soil samples and found that areas with faults, basins, and deltas had higher Cu levels. Cu concentrations increased as you went deeper into the soil. The distribution of Cu was influenced by the presence of granite and faults in the region. Soil organic matter and clay content also played a role in Cu levels.
