Xinjiang Lakes Teeming with Diverse Bacteria, Unveiling Hidden Microbial Worlds.
The researchers studied the bacteria in Xiaokuer Lake and Tuzi Lake in Xinjiang using a method that doesn't require growing them in a lab. They found that Tuzi Lake has a greater variety of bacteria compared to Xiaokuer Lake. The bacteria in Xiaokuer Lake mainly belong to Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Firmicutes, while Tuzi Lake has a wider range including Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Acidobacteria. This shows that the lakes in Xinjiang have diverse microorganisms that are worth studying further.
